Dave Otto, co-founder of Friends of Bolin Creek and advocate for the conservation of Bolin Creek for many years died on December 4th. We remember his infectious enthusiasm for photography and sharing his love for the wildlife and wildflowers along Bolin Creek.  Dave was happiest when in early spring he would locate the first Trout Lillies to emerge, and closely followed the Trillium as they spread along Bolin creek forest. He documented every flower he found along the trails, and over the years accumulated a fantastic inventory of Piedmont wildflowers located within the forest. Spring Beauties delighted him, along with Marsh Pinks, and Partridge Pea. Bolin Creek enthralled him, and he spent hours wandering his beloved home patch of forest in search of both the rare and the common wildflowers.
