Calling all gardeners! Friends of Bolin Creek is partnering with the Town of Carrboro and Bolin Creek Homeowners in a collaborative project to stabilize a large eroding hillside above Bolin Creek in Carrboro. Volunteer to help plant Liatris, Silky Dogwood, Button Bush, Indian Grass, Native Iris, and more.

Volunteer planting days are Saturday, March 16 & 23 from 9 am – 2 pm, meet at Amber Court cul-de-sac, Carrboro. Parking is available at Forest Court Condos off of Bolin Creek Drive. RSVP Meg Molly by emailing: meg1molloy@gmail.com

Later events planned are:

  • Celebration of this project will be held April 13 from 1-3 at the Century Center to share this model so that other neighborhoods can work together to address stormwater.
  • “Landscaping for Erosion Control” workshop will be held in April.
