The Town of Carrboro faces special budget challenges this year thanks to Hurricane Chantal. May is the usual budget month for towns and cities when the Council evaluates priorities, hears from the public, and decides how to allocate the 2027 – 27 budget.  Friends of Bolin Creek seeks a healthy waterway, with invasive species removed and natives planted along Bolin Creek.  The Manager’s budget, a draft until it is reviewed and approved, recommends $400,000 in one of three installments to pay for engineering design for a 2-mile paved greenway. We believe that thanks to OWASA’s repair work, Carrboro has gained a walkable, semi-permeable bikeway, loved by both walkers and runners.
