{"id":712,"date":"2011-03-20T22:14:24","date_gmt":"2011-03-20T22:14:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bolincreek.org\/blog\/?p=712"},"modified":"2011-03-22T18:53:44","modified_gmt":"2011-03-22T18:53:44","slug":"clean-up-day-a-big-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bolincreek.org\/blog\/2011\/03\/20\/clean-up-day-a-big-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Clean Up Day &#8212; a Big Success for the Watershed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over 85 people came out to the Rogers &#8211; Eubanks neighborhood to haul trash away to the landfill.\u00a0 It was a beautiful day with Spring in the air.\u00a0 David Caldwell divided people into small teams armed with trash bags and gloves.\u00a0 Pick up trucks met the crews to sort and haul the trash to the dump.\u00a0 One dump site yielded 3 TVs, metal car parts, old electrical appliances, and an ancient looking shot gun.<\/p>\n<p>Friends of Bolin Creek volunteers joined many others, including energetic UNC students from the campus Y.\u00a0 Engineers Without Borders provided the GIS work to identify the trash sites.\u00a0 Orange County helped to\u00a0 sort the items to ensure much was recycled.<\/p>\n<p>The Roger and Eubanks Road Neighborhood over the years has faced the challenge of being a neighbor to the County landfill.
