Construction Site Monitoring
New construction along Bolin Creek presents special challenges for maintaining the health of our streams. The risks associated with earth-moving activities have prompted FoBC to become proactive in monitoring streams that are directly impacted by new construction. We strive to establish mutually beneficial relationships with developers to ensure that erosion control measures are effective.
Our regular monitoring of construction sites essentially involves making sure that storm water is diverted, held and settled before being properly released into the creek. We assess storm water at discharge outfalls for clarity, suspended solids, and other obvious indicators of pollution.
